Esta entrevista deu luta...
Foi no fim de 2021 que comecei a falar com o meu convidado, no Instagram. Já tinha fotografado diversas das suas peças, principalmente nos arredores de Sintra, e tinha muita vontade de ter o seu registo no blog.
DZER25 mostrou interesse pela(o) pintura / desenho desde cedo. Em 2001 já mandava tags de surra pela escola e arredores e começou a pintar há uns 18 anos atrás.
Depois de ter parado uns 3 anos, por ter sido apanhado a pintar a spray num complexo desportivo, voltou ao ativo fora da sua zona. A partir dessa altura, continua a fazê-lo sempre que pode.
Apesar do graffiti lhe ter trazido muitas dores de cabeça, stress e problemas já resolvidos, o balanço será sempre positivo... Trouxe-lhe bons amigos, divertimento, auto confiança, aventuras e levou-o a sítios onde nunca pensou estar. Nem tudo é mau, apesar de ser considerado crime.
Quando inquirido sobre o que o mantém ligado ao graff após tantos anos, referiu que "Essa pergunta não é fácil... Um bom vício, uma paixão... Um escape à rotina urbana, uma segunda identidade... O mais certo é continuar sem saber, pois a minha vontade vai sempre dar a isso inconscientemente".
O seu conselho para a nova geração de writers é que "respeitem para serem respeitados, não chibem o próximo e que se foda o sistema!!!".

Qual o significado do teu tag?
Nada significativo, tem apenas sentido para mim. Apenas letras que resultam juntas foneticamente, por assim dizer.
Quando começou o teu interesse pelo graffiti e quais foram as tuas influências na altura?
Já desde miúdo riscava a garagem, que era onde o meu pai guardava as tintas na altura. Esse instinto levou-me sempre a olhar para as paredes por Lisboa (concelho da Amadora).
Recordo-me de ver GVS, KSE, EC, CN, FYA, VNT, isso já era graff e não me era indiferente.
Como era a cena no graffiti quando começaste?
Para ser sincero, à medida que vamos conhecendo o que nos rodeia, outros writers, vamos tendo mais noção de comunidade underground, no movimento Hip-Hop.
Comecei com tags a marcadores ou trinchas, que comprava na "Super-Livro" uma papelaria em Benfica junto à Pedro de Santarém, onde estudava em puto. À medida que fui querendo explorar e tendo mais liberdade, comprava as primeiras latas junto à minha casa, numa loja de peças para carros. Fiquei fascinado com a experiência do 1º graff e tinha dias que não comia só para comprar latas.
Pertences a alguma crew?
NR (guardo todas as que representei na memória e respeito todos os que fizeram parte da minha caminhada até hoje, MLK, 1675, 540, SM).
Quais são os teus spots / cidades preferidos?
A linha de comboio (LS principalmente) sempre me atraiu muito apesar de ter de renovar alguns spots atualmente, adoro explorar.
O Porto tem sempre outro encanto para mim.
O que puxa por ti, hoje em dia? Wall of fame, street bombing ou train bombing?
Um pouco de tudo, tento conciliar o tempo que tenho com as ganas que me dá. Diria que o ilegal é sempre mais divertido e libertador.
Quais são os ingredientes para um bom dia de pinturas?
Fat cap e tem dias de música.
Qual é o melhor parceiro de pinturas?
O rolo da tinta plástica. ;)
Como é o teu processo criativo e onde vais buscar as tuas inspirações para as tuas peças?
Tento equilibrar as letras, já faz algum tempo que pinto ativamente, tento sempre inovar para continuar a ser divertido e, acima de tudo, desafiante, daí o desenhar bastante.
Pintas com sketch ou freestyle?
Depende do spot. Por vezes tenho um sketch recente e aplico.
O que toca na tua playlist quando pintas?
Hip-Hop (rap de vários artistas ou música só com beats), Techno, Kuduro... Oiço vários estilos ou aproveito para interagir se estiver a pintar com alguém.
Qual é a tua peça preferida?
O ambiente influencia-me bastante nisso, penso que essa ainda está para vir.
Como descreves o panorama atual do graffiti em Portugal? O que pode melhorar?
Temos qualidade é certo, mas penso que a união no movimento... O sistema limita e é sujo, não é como a CULTURA DO GRAFFITI que nos liberta! A arte inspira, tal como fomos inspirados.
Qual é o teu top 3 de writers portugueses?
Tenho alguns tantos, mas: QUE?, BLE, SEN.
E de writers estrangeiros?
KEEP6, RAMS, TAPS .
Com que writer gostavas de fazer uma peça conjunta?
OBEY.
Qual é aquela peça que ainda te falta fazer (pelo tamanho, complexidade, etc.)?
Gosto bastante de 3D, talvez partir um bruto 3D a cores.
Quais são os teus planos / projetos futuros?
Conseguir viajar, continuar a inspirar outros e, quem sabe, uma exposição.
Tens alguma história que queiras partilhar?
Tenho muitas, outras tantas só vendo as fotos para me avivar a memória... Uma que jamais esquecerei foi com o RIDUS (R.I.P). Tínhamos visto 2 sugas no Yard, controlámos e quando éramos para entrar, cruzámo-nos com uns writers que tinham sido vistos e estavam a sair do mesmo. Uma delas (props RISL) já no carro a passar por nós reconheceu o NUNO, pois eu não a conhecia, e avisou-nos para não entrar logo. Tentámos insistir mas eles estavam muito ativos desse mesmo lado. Reposicionámos e aguardámos (mesmo sem check, na altura), motivados em fazê-lo mesmo assim. Recordo-me que juntou-se mais um suga, o qual estava no lado oposto do Yard (onde acabámos por pintar, pois os outros dois estavam atentos a ver se iam acabar derivado à tinta fresca). No sítio que estávamos, tínhamos uma boa visão sobre o mesmo e, quando foi mais oportuno, entrámos e fomos bem sucedidos, mesmo com tanta gente lá dentro. Foi épico, acredito que tinha mesmo de acontecer... Apesar de todo o entusiasmo e adrenalina, mal tivemos tempo para celebrar como devido, uma vez que ele tinha de ir trabalhar. Descansa em paz, amigo!!!

This interview was a struggle... It was at the end of 2021 that I started talking to my guest on Instagram. I had already photographed several of his pieces, mainly in the surroundings of Sintra, and I really wanted to have them recorded on the blog. DZER25 showed an interest in painting/drawing from an early age. In 2001, he was already sending out beating tags around school and the surrounding area and started painting about 18 years ago. After stopping for about 3 years, after being caught spray painting in a sports complex, he got back to work outside his area. Since then, he continues to do it whenever he can. Although graffiti has brought him a lot of headaches, stress and problems that have already been resolved, the balance will always be positive... It has brought him good friends, fun, self-confidence, adventures and has taken him to places he never thought he would be. Not everything is bad, despite being considered a crime. When asked what keeps him involved in graffiti after so many years, he said, "That's not an easy question... A good addiction, a passion... An escape from the urban routine, a second identity... The most likely outcome is that I will continue to not know, because my will will always lead to that unconsciously." His advice to the new generation of writers is to "respect in order to be respected, don't snitch on others and fuck the system!!!"

What is the meaning of your tag?
Nothing significant, it just makes sense to me. Just letters that work together phonetically, so to speak.
When did your interest in graffiti begin and what were your influences at the time?
Ever since I was a kid, I used to scratch the garage, which was where my dad kept the paint at the time. This instinct always led me to look at the walls around Lisbon (Amadora municipality).
I remember seeing GVS, KSE, EC, CN, FYA, VNT, that was already graff and I didn't mind.
What was the graffiti scene like when you started?
To be honest, as we got to know our surroundings, other writers, we became more aware of the underground community in the Hip-Hop movement.
I started out with tags and markers, which I used to buy from “Super-Livro”, a stationery shop in Benfica next to Pedro de Santarém, where I studied as a kid. As I wanted to explore and had more freedom, I bought my first cans near my house, in a car parts store. I was fascinated by the experience of the first graff and there were days when I wouldn't eat just to buy cans.
Do you belong to a crew?
NR (I keep all the ones I've represented in my memory and respect all those who have been part of my journey to date, MLK, 1675, 540, SM).
What are your favorite spots / cities?
The train line (LS mainly) has always appealed to me, although I have to renew some spots these days, I love exploring.
Porto always has another charm for me.
What gets to you these days? Wall of fame, street bombing or train bombing?
A bit of everything, I try to reconcile the time I have with the desire I have. I'd say the illegal is always more fun and liberating.
What are the ingredients for a good day of painting?
Fat cap and music days.
What's your best painting partner?
The plastic paint roller. ;)
What's your creative process like and where do you get your inspiration for your pieces?
I try to balance the letters, I've been actively painting for a while now, I always try to innovate to keep it fun and, above all, challenging, hence the drawing a lot.
Do you paint sketch or freestyle?
It depends on the spot. Sometimes I have a recent sketch and I apply it.
What plays on your playlist when you paint?
Hip-Hop (rap by various artists or music with just beats), Techno, Kuduro... I listen to various styles or take the opportunity to interact if I'm painting with someone.
What's your favorite piece?
The environment influences me a lot, I think that's yet to come.
How would you describe the current graffiti scene in Portugal? What could be improved?
We certainly have quality, but I think there's a lack of unity in the movement... The system limits us and it's dirty, it's not like the GRAFFITI CULTURE sets us free! Art inspires, just as we have been inspired.
What's your top 3 Portuguese writers?
I have quite a few, but: QUE?, BLE, SEN.
And foreign writers?
KEEP6, RAMS, TAPS .
Which writer would you like to do a joint piece with?
OBEY.
What's the piece you've yet to do (in terms of size, complexity, etc.)?
I like 3D a lot, maybe I'll do a rough 3D in color.
What are your future plans / projects?
Being able to travel, continuing to inspire others and, who knows, an exhibition.
Do you have any stories you'd like to share?
I have many, and many more I can only remember by looking at the photos... One I'll never forget was with RIDUS (R.I.P). We'd seen 2 suckers in the Yard, we checked them out and when we were about to go in, we came across some writers who'd been spotted and were coming out. One of them (RISL props) already in the car passing us recognized NUNO, as I didn't know her, and warned us not to go in right away. We tried to insist but they were very active on that side. We repositioned and waited (even without a check at the time), motivated to do it anyway. I remember that another suga joined us, which was on the opposite side of the Yard (where we ended up painting, as the other two were watching to see if they were going to finish due to the fresh paint). From where we were, we had a good view of it and, when the time was right, we went in and succeeded, even with so many people inside. It was epic, I believe it had to happen... Despite all the excitement and adrenaline, we barely had time to celebrate properly, as he had to go to work. Rest in peace, buddy!!!
