Até agora, este Secret Spot do fim do ano passado deve ter sido o mais difícil de concretizar.

Há muito que queria entrevistar Stay, mas o writer é de um só foco e disse-me que tal só iria acontecer quando encontrasse um momento oportuno.

Recebida a entrevista, encontrei-o (e ao Rope), uns dias mais tarde, no Skate Park de Campolide, a dar os últimos retoques numa peça de homenagem a Ridus.

Foi lá que lhes fiz o convite para um Secret Spot.

O meu convidado foi mais lesto a responder, mas disse que só pintava na sua zona, porque gostava de ter as suas peças perto de casa.

Como tela, foi escolhida uma parede numa rua sem saída perto da AE e, no dia combinado, a aventura começou por volta das 22h00.

Enquanto aguardávamos que a chuva acalmasse, a conversa sobre robótica, mecatrónica, política internacional, podcasts, inteligência artificial e outros temas correu ligeira.

A pintura começou por volta da meia-noite.

Depois de algum tempo em que tivemos que lidar com todas as questões que pareciam querer abortar a empreitada (as subidas e descidas no escadote, uma ameaça de carro de polícia que era afinal um TVDE perdido e mais um carro com três ocupantes que passaram para ir à bomba comprar algum produto urgente, foi um cão na propriedade vizinha que nos fez mudar de parede, com receio de que o seu ladrar acordasse a vizinhança.

Minucioso, Stay pôs de lado o lettering que lhe é tão característico e optou pela execução de 4 letras de estilos distintos.

Durante a execução houve tempo para mais conversa, uns snacks noturnos e alguns bocejos.

O lettering foi complementado com um character de homenagem ao Da Chic Thief.

Aos últimos traços, o carteiro passou a caminho do emprego e saudou-nos com um bom dia.

Quando cheguei a casa eram 6h00 da manhã.

So far, this Secret Spot from the end of last year must have been the hardest to put together.

I had wanted to interview Stay for a long time, but the writer is single-minded and told me that it would only happen when he found the right moment.

After receiving the interview, I met him (and Rope) a few days later at the Campolide Skate Park, putting the finishing touches on a piece in homage to Ridus.

It was there that I invited them to a Secret Spot.

My guest was quicker to respond, but said that he only painted in his area, because he liked to have his pieces close to home.

A wall in a dead-end street near the AE was chosen as the canvas, and on the agreed day, the adventure began around 10 pm.

While we waited for the rain to ease, the conversation about robotics, mechatronics, international politics, podcasts, artificial intelligence and other topics went smoothly. Painting began around midnight. After some time in which we had to deal with all the issues that seemed to want to abort the project (the climbs and descents on the ladder, a threat from a police car that turned out to be a lost TVDE and another car with three occupants that passed by to go to the gas station to buy some urgent product, it was a dog on the neighboring property that made us change the wall, for fear that its barking would wake up the neighbors. Meticulous, Stay put aside the lettering that is so characteristic of him and opted for the execution of 4 letters in different styles. During the execution there was time for more conversation, some late-night snacks and a few yawns. The lettering was complemented with a character in homage to Da Chic Thief. At the last strokes, the postman passed by on his way to work and greeted us with a good morning. When I got home it was 6:00 in the morning. Don't miss the interview with the writer tomorrow.
